David McKinnon
Chairman
David McKinnon is one of the nation’s most successful entrepreneurs. He is also a recognized business innovator and TriniD’s largest individual investor.
Partnering with Alan to create TriniD Capital, David sought to fill an unmet need among high net worth investors who seek durable growth returns — an alternative to large impersonal institutions and packaged products — with a focus on direct personal relationships between investors and the people directly responsible for investment decisions.
TriniD Ventures reflects David’s ambition to provide the next generation of entrepreneurs with private equity partnerships based on mutual respect, mentorship, and active involvement in helping them achieve their dreams.
David was co-founder and chairman of Service Brands International (SBI), a global franchise organization. He built his first franchise brand, Molly Maid, into a $300+ million organization with more than 800 franchises in a half-dozen countries. Other successful brands included Mr. Handyman, ProTect Painters, 1-800-Dry Clean, and Ductz International. David has grown more than a dozen companies over the past 30+ years, including nine successful sales.
Among numerous recognitions, David has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the International Franchising Association (IFA) and was inducted into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 2013.
